Rehabilitation programs
We offer a range of customised therapy programs so that you can meet your goals and improve in the areas that are most important to you. Your program will be based on the latest neuroplasticity evidence to improve your brain’s function. It will also give you practical strategies to deal with the challenges you are experiencing. Rehabilitation programs can include…
Upper limb rehabilitation: working on your upper limb movement, sensation and function. This is done through therapeutic handling and facilitation, using a variety of techniques such as practising normal movement patterns, mental rehearsal, sensory retraining (SENSe), Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), Mirror Box therapy and Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES).

Cognitive rehabilitation: working on your attention, memory, planning, organisation and decision making. Providing you with the skills to work around challenges or improve your thinking abilities using the principles of neuroplasticity.
Sensory processing/perceptual rehabilitation: working on your ability to process your sensory input and use that information effectively in day-to-day tasks that are important to you. This can include being able to identify objects, orienting your clothing effectively for dressing, finding your way around your home or to the shops and recognising how things go together.
Functional rehabilitation: working on those day-to-day activities that you might be finding difficult, like eating a meal, driving, going shopping, writing, using the computer, looking after your family and returning to study or work.
Your rehabilitation program will be customised to meet your needs. We’ll speak about it with you and agree a potential timeframe that works for you. Practise of the right strategies is key! Intensity and consistency matter to make meaningful change, so your therapy sessions will be complemented by strategies and activities to practise at home in-between sessions.
